Aster Healthcare Unveils AED 1 Billion UAE Expansion With New Hospitals and Transplant Centre

Aster DM Healthcare has unveiled a AED 1 billion expansion plan across the UAE, including two new hospitals, a multi-organ transplant centre, and an advanced robotic rehabilitation facility, announced at the World Health Expo 2026 in Dubai.

New Hospitals and Bed Capacity

Aster plans to open two new multi-specialty hospitals in Dubai, located in Studio City and Discovery Gardens, adding more than 250 beds to its existing UAE capacity of around 920 beds. The new facilities are expected to serve over 560,000 additional patients annually and create more than 675 healthcare jobs.

A New Transplant Centre for the Northern Emirates

Aster has received approval to launch the first private multi-organ transplant centre in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, to be operated by Medcare Hospital. The centre will bring together international clinical expertise to deliver complex transplant procedures locally, reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for such treatment.

Advanced Robotic Rehabilitation

The group is also launching an Advanced Robotic Rehabilitation Centre in Dubai, featuring 18 specialized robotic systems including US FDA-approved exoskeletons, neuromodulation therapies, and brain-computer interface systems. A dedicated Paediatric Neurorehabilitation Centre will support children with autism, ADHD, and cerebral palsy using AI-enabled cognitive mapping and immersive VR therapy.

Why This Matters for the UAE Healthcare Sector

The expansion, with an investment of AED 300 million for the Al Qusais annex alone, is expected to be completed by the end of 2028. It reflects broader momentum across the UAE healthcare sector, as providers continue investing heavily to position the country as a global medical tourism and innovation hub.
