PDMA Announced Rains in First Week Of August

The month of August is also bringing rains and PDMA has predicted some light and some heavy rains across the country in the first week of this month.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, there is a possibility of some light and some heavy rain in the first week of August. The upper reaches of the Ravi, Chenab, and Sutlej Rivers will experience heavy rains, while the upper reaches of the Indus River and Kabul will experience relatively moderate rains.

According to the PDMA, during the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Rawalpindi, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur while Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sahiwal are also likely to receive rain.

The spokesperson said that Mangala Dam is 84% and Tarbela Dam is 85% full of water. A high level of flood is expected at Mangala in the Jhelum River between August 4 and 6.

The PDMA has also directed the concerned administrations to remain alert given rains and floods.
